Vada is a seaside town, known since ancient times characterized by its natural harbor, evidenced by its old name, “Vadum” which means, landing place, ford. In the past, its inlet was an excellent refuge for pirates Saracens. Very well known are the “dry of Vada” which caused the loss of many Roman ships, leaving in this area some of the most important testimonies due to trade the greek-Roman world.
